Welcome Cocktail

Historial

The welcome cocktail (monday evening) will take place at the Historial Joan of Arc, in the "Salle des Etats". The Historial Jeanne d’Arc is a museum located in the historical heart of Rouen. It is a place dedicated to the study and understanding of the history of Joan of Arc. The museum was inaugurated in March 2015, after a period of intensive restoration to preserve and highlight the historic architecture of the building. The "Salle des Etats" is a major piece of the Historial and dates from the 18th century. It is decorated with chandeliers, statues, stained glass windows and master paintings, which gives it an elegant and historical atmosphere.

Boscherville

Abbey of Saint-Georges de Boscherville

The Abbey of Saint-Georges de Boscherville is a former Benedictine abbey located in the commune of Saint-Martin-de-Boscherville, in Seine-Maritime, France. It was founded in about 1113 on the site of an earlier establishment of secular canons and settled by monks from the Abbey of Saint-Evroul. The abbey church is almost entirely in the Romanesque style and is remarkable for its great luminosity. The chapter house (late 12th century) is famous for its historiated capitals, and the conventual buildings date from the 17th century.

Giverny

The Foundation Claude Monet presents the gardens and house of Claude Monet in Giverny, France. It is the second most visited tourist site in Normandy, with over 500,000 visitors per year. The house was transformed by Monet himself, with doors and shutters painted green, a yellow dining room decorated with Japanese prints from the 18th and 19th centuries, and a kitchen with blue and white ceramic tiles from Rouen. The gardens are famous for their water lilies and Japanese bridge, which Monet painted many times. The foundation also has a collection of Japanese prints and is open to visitors throughout the year.

Rouen

The gala dinner of the conference will take place at the gourmet restaurant "La Couronne", the oldest inn in France (which will be privatized for the occasion).
